What is a Self Help Group (SHG)?
A Self Help Group (SHG) — locally known as बचत गट — is a community-based group of 10 to 20 members, primarily from tribal households, who pool regular savings and support each other through internal lending. Shabari Mahamandal provides low-interest loans to registered SHGs to help them grow businesses, purchase equipment, and strengthen their livelihoods collectively.

Eligibility Criteria
- Active SHG member for a minimum of 6 months.
- Regular savings record maintained in a bank account.
- All members must belong to ST / NT / VJNT category.
- Group must have a clean repayment history (if existing borrower).
- Annual group savings of at least ₹6,000.
How to Form an SHG
- 1
Form a group of 10–20 members from the same village / locality.

Elect a President, Secretary, and Treasurer from among the members.

Open a joint savings bank account and maintain regular contributions for at least 6 months.

Register the SHG with the local Gram Panchayat and obtain a Group Resolution.

Apply at the nearest Shabari Mahamandal branch with passbook, resolution, and member Aadhaar cards.
